About Fortunate Son

Five days before the inauguration of the next president, Special Agent Emma Noble is given her first assignment — the victim of a twenty-year cold case, the most infamous kidnapping in a century, has been located.

His name is Ben Danvers, and he’s a shy risk manager from Boston. Ben learns that his birth mother is American royalty, rich beyond measure, and the incoming vice president. Overwhelmed by the sudden demands of power and wealth, Ben turns away from his birthright to search for the truth about the woman who raised him. He discovers a killing cult, waiting for the fulfillment of a deadly prophecy.

As the clock ticks down, Emma Noble races against time. Ben is being hunted, his girlfriend is in mortal danger, the president and hundreds of American leaders are in the crosshairs. The key to the truth is hidden in the tangled threads of a plot set in motion two decades ago, a prophecy that now extends into the darkest corridors of power.

Across the nation a rising tide of hate, fear, and conspiracy threatens to overwhelm the levees of common sense. Emma Noble is a rookie. Ben is no hero. Together, they must risk everything.

Author Interview with Writer’s Digest

“Author Andrew Bridgeman discusses changing genres from writing historical fiction to thrillers and how that change was inspired by a face-to-face conversation with a literary agent at the Writer's Digest Conference.”

A deadly prophecy must be stopped before all is lost. Trust none, sacrifice all: words to live (or die) by in this edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller of deceit and intrigue.

"Bridgeman has crafted a propulsive, brilliantly executed thriller that will keep readers guessing as the story moves briskly along. Although there are many twists, the narrative is tightly plotted throughout, and even the ancillary characters come across vividly. Bridgeman addresses issues of personal identity and the bonds of familial love in a novel that also includes shootouts and evil cabals, which sets this apart from other political thrillers. Readers will come to care deeply about the players in this constantly shifting game, and that depth of feeling propels the reader forward to the story’s satisfying, shocking conclusion. Fans of both family dramas and high-octane thrillers are likely to find much to savor here. An action-packed political thriller that delivers surprising plot turns and affecting characterization. "
